This waste stream is often to be found in car and machine workshops. Waste containing oil includes oil filters, fuel oil filters, air filters and waste contaminated with oil.
"The treatment process aims to reuse all collected waste containing oil, either as a primary material (metal recovery) or as a secondary fuel (residual waste). When processing waste containing oil filters, three waste streams are created: used oil, a dry, residual fraction and sorted waste. Filtered oil is stored in an above-ground, double-walled reservoir by a certified agent for recycling at a later date. The dry, residual fraction can be used as primary secondary material in, for example, the cement industry. The mechanically or manually sorted waste then undergoes treatment appropriate to their physical or chemical characteristics"
