Bases

Bins for Bases

Bases

Bases are considered chemical waste. Sodium hydroxide and ammonia used in cleaning processes are examples of these. We can spot bases because of the hazard pictograms on cleaning products such as unblockers, bleach and other cleaners. Collect bases in a closed container or bottle and let us remove them safely for you.

What happens with Bases

The products are tested at our Rumbeke plant. A great many types of base undergo physiochemical processes. They have often been contaminated with heavy metals and/or limited concentrations of organic material. This waste is neutralised, immobilised and oxidised. Often a combined treatment is required. In this way we recover as much primary material as possible.
