You can sort food waste using
de Organic Switch
Flip the switch yourself and find out what you’re helping to achieve
Keeping kitchen waste and food scraps out of general waste is more than just a legal obligation for businesses. It’s also about getting more out of your food waste and contributing to a sustainable and circular future. That’s what we’re working towards together. Are you ready to make the switch?
Collecting food – how does it work?
We have invested in a new, innovative food waste collection system. This allows us to empty the wheelie bins on site using a special tipping system, enabling us to collect more food waste in a single round. What’s more, this means we drive fewer kilometres and therefore emit less CO2.
The more food waste we can collect separately, the more we can convert these valuable materials into biogas, electricity, heat and soil improver.
Bespoke containers
If you don’t yet sort your food waste, it will probably end up in your general waste.
Unfortunately, general waste cannot be recycled to the full extent possible. By collecting your food waste separately, you help ensure that we can get more out of it by converting it into valuable materials, such as biogas, electricity, heat and soil improver.
What’s more, food waste can quickly start to smell. By collecting it in a separate bin and having it collected more frequently, you can prevent unwanted odours in your general waste bin.
Our food waste bins
Interesse in de Organic Switch?
We offer a range of solutions for the collection of your kitchen and food waste. Our 60-litre wheelie bin is ideal for smaller volumes of food waste. For slightly larger volumes, you can opt for a 140-litre wheelie bin. If food waste is generated in several locations, you can, of course, provide multiple wheelie bins. These can be emptied weekly or fortnightly.
Why not optimise your internal collection process too? We can help!
To ensure the most efficient internal collection of your food waste, we offer a stainless-steel pedal bin or a SlimBin with matching compostable bags.
This makes it easy to place them in strategic locations (such as the staff kitchen) where food waste is generated.
